What is An Automatic Sheeting Machine?
An automatic sheeting machine is also called a cross-cutting machine. It is divided into the mechanical type and computer-controlled type, because of different control methods.
The computer type is controlled by the computer to drive the knife shat to cut the paper roll according to the set length. Coupled with the precision transmission of the mechanical part, the paper cutting error can be controlled within the range of ±1mm.
Types of Automatic Sheeting Machine
Now the most popular sheeter type is the computer-controlled type. But it has a different cutting method. They are single-knife rotary cutting, double-knife synchronize rotary cutting, and scissors knife straight cutting.
Sheeting Knife Position and Function
A Sheeting knife is the most important mechanical part of an automatic sheeting machine. It cuts roll materials into piled sheets. So that the paper sheets could be fed into those sheet-feeding type machines to do the next treatment job, like offset printing, laminating, paper bag making, carton making, and so on.
Today we are going to display and introduce the adjustment of automatic sheeting machine with scissors knife (straight cutting method).

1-Fix plate
2-Long screw, push knife backward
3-Short screw, pull knife forward. It is used for cutting the squareness degree of the paper sheets, normally no need to adjust often. It is set before delivery.

6.7 -Upper and lower knife fixing screws, must fasten them strictly when adjusting the blades.
8- Adjust screws when the knife is slightly wearing.

Adjustment Guide
1. Prepare the adjustment tools, like an open wrench, screwdriver…
2. Inch running the sheeting knife.
3. Prepare a piece of the paper sheet, as least A4 size big.
4. First rough adjusting the 2 ends of the blade. Driving side first, then the operating side. After that lock the fixing screws on both sides but not fasten too firm. Then insert a piece of paper to check the cutting performance. The paper sheet is not fully cut-off. The paper sheet is just half cut, and half not.
5. Adjust the middle section of the knife. By adjust the pull and push screws, until the inserted paper sheet is cut fully. Then locking the fixing screws in the middle.
6. Back to adjust the transmission side and the operation side knife until the inserted paper sheet is completely cut off.
7. Insert paper sheet at every part of the sheeting knife. Make sure all individual points could cut off the paper perfectly.
8. Finally fasten all the fixing screws on the blade and its seat.
9. Clean the worksite.
10. Power off the machine. And the upper knife must stop at its highest point.
Safety Note
During knife adjusting, the machine must inch running, please pay attention to the hand’s protection when inserting a paper sheet between the blades.
Use a tool to adjust the screws.
Avoid other people approaching the machine, in case any people, press any buttons on the control panel by mistake.
After the adjustment, power off the machine, the knife will be held at the highest position, put down the protecting cover of the knife, and clean up the tools so as not to be left in the machine and affect the normal operation of the machine.
